Bond screenwriters adapting Jo Nesbo’s I Am Victor for director Baltasar Kormakur

April 10, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Regular James Bond scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are to pen an adaptation of Norwegian author Jo Nesbo’s upcoming novel I Am Victor, which has Baltasar Kormakur (Everest) attached to direct and produce.

The crime thriller follows “a skilled but morally corrupt and narcissistic divorce attorney. When he finds himself framed for a series of brutal murders, he embarks on his own investigation to find the killer.” Nesbo’s original outline was previously adapted as a TV pilot starring John Stamos, but failed to make it to series.

Purvis and Wade are said to also be working on the script for Bond 25, while Kormakur is attached to direct the sea survival thriller Adrift, along with the adventure story Vikingr. It is unclear where I Am Victor would fall into his upcoming slate.

Adaptations of several of Nesbo’s novels are in the works, with the Michael Fassbender-headlined The Snowman first up with a release set for October.
