Calista Flockhart to return as Cat Grant in Supergirl finale

April 12, 2017 by Ricky Church

It looks like Tyler Hoechlin won’t be the only returning face in Supergirl‘s second season finale. Calista Flockhart will reprise her role as media mogul Cat Grant in the final two episodes of the season. It’s not clear what spurs her return to National City, but the episodes will air May 15th and 22nd.

Throughout the first season of Supergirl, Cat Grant was a strong presence in the show, being both Kara’s boss and a kind of confidant to Supergirl. The start of this season though saw her decide to take a leave of absence to sort out some personal issues as she felt fulfilled with everything she accomplished with CatCo and wanted to try something new. In reality, though, Supergirl‘s move from Los Angeles to Vancouver in its switch from CBS to The CW was not a change Flockhart was willing to make.

Supergirl is currently on a hiatus until April 24th when it returns with the episode ‘Ace Reporter’. Check out a batch of promotional images here.
