Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman will return in Supergirl’s season 2 finale

April 11, 2017 by Ricky Church

Since his appearance in the first two episodes of Supergirl’s second season, many have wondered if Tyler Hoechlin would reprise his role as Supergirl’s cousin Superman, and now E! has revealed that the actor will in return for Supergirl’s season two finale.

Superman made his way to National City at the start of the season to help Supergirl confront Metallo, but ended up staying to learn more about Kara’s life on Krypton. He left National City confident in Kara’s ability as Supergirl and, aside from an occasional mention, hasn’t been seen since. However, with Katie McGarth’s Lena Luthor playing a prominent role this season, and having been bumped up to a series regular for Season 3, Supergirl and Superman may find themselves having to deal with more trouble from the Luthor family.

Supergirl is currently on a hiatus until April 24 when it returns with the episode ‘Ace Reporter’. Check out the synopsis here:

Lena’s (guest star Katie McGarth) ex-boyfriend, Jack Spheer (guest star Rahul Kohli), comes to National City to unveil his big breakthrough in nano-technology, which has the potential to eradicate all diseases. Lena asks Kara to attend Jack’s conference with her for support. When Kara sees Snapper (guest Star Ian Gomez) in attendance she’s inspired to tap back into her reporter skills and questions Jack on his discovery, which ultimately leads to a bigger investigation that puts everyone in danger.
