Danny DeVito and Jeff Goldblum to star in untitled Amazon comedy series

May 4, 2017 by Ricky Church

Amazon Studios has just acquired another comedy series starring some high-profile talent. The untitled series comes from ImagineTV and is created by The Simpsons‘ Tim Long, and will star It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Danny DeVito and Thor: Ragnarok‘s Jeff Goldblum.

Goldblum and DeVito will star as an aging and iconic music duo Matt Downey and Arlo Finkelman respectively, who are forced to come together once again despite their long-standing animosity towards each other after a bitter break-up.

According to the synopsis, “the talented but strong-willed pair attempt to reconcile, they turn to the people who somehow manage to love these two incandescent idiots — their wives, ex-wives, children, managers, friends and lovers — all of whom turn out to be as brilliant, infuriating and frustratingly lovable as Matt and Arlo themselves.”

DeVito and his son, Jake DeVito, will also be executive producers on the show with ImagineTV’s Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo. DeVito recently finished the 12th season of It’s Always Sunny while Goldblum has recently been announced as returning to the Jurassic Park franchise as Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World 2.
