Brian De Palma to direct Christina Hendricks and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in Domino

May 4, 2017 by Ricky Church

It’s been a little while since we’ve seen a new project from iconic director Brian De Palma, but he’s finally got his eye set on a new film. Empire has reported that De Palma will be directing Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks and Game of Thrones‘ Nikolaj Coster Waldau in the thriller Domino.

Domino will see Coster-Waldau as a Copenhagen-based police officer on a mission to avenge his partner after they are murdered by a mysterious criminal named Imran. He teams up with a fellow cop and late colleague’s mistress, played by Hendricks, to bring Imran to justice, but the case turns into a game of cat and mouse that draws in the CIA and takes the pair from Scandinavia to Spain.

There is a chance that the film will face a title change to avoid confusion with Tony Scott’s 2005 film of the same name starring Keira Knightley. No studio is currently backing the film, but De Palma and his fellow producers already have financed the project and are looking to get distributors at Cannes. If that happens, we should hear more on when production on Domino will start. In the meantime, Hendricks can be seen next in Potterville while Coster-Waldau will return as Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones this July.
