Better Things star Pamela Adlon has become the latest addition to the cast of Paramount Pictures’ Bumblebee movie, with the Emmy Award-nominated actress signing on to the cast of the Transformers spinoff, where she’ll play the mother of Hailee Steinfeld’s teenage lead.
Bumblebee is being directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) and also features a cast that includes Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Jason Drucker (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul), Abby Quinn (Landline), Rachel Crow (Deidra & Laney Rob a Train), Ricardo Hoyos (Degrassi) and Gracie Dzienny (Chasing Life). Plot details are being kept under wraps, but we do know that it will take place in 1985 and see Bumblebee and Steinfeld having to deal with the Decepticons without the help of Optimus Prime and company.

Transformers: Bumblebee is set for release on June 22nd 2018.
