Stranger Things Season 2 will focus on Hopper’s daughter Sarah, according to David Harbour

September 9, 2017 by Jordan Jones

Aside from a brand new threat, and more trips to the “Upside Down”, it looks like Season 2 of Stranger Things is going to dive into Hopper’s relationship with his daughter Sarah. Actor David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper on the hit Netflix series, went into detail while talking to TV Guide:

“Hopper’s daughter will be the primary focus of Season 2, but not in the way that you think it will be. Hopper’s understanding of that relationship and Hopper’s understanding of being a father and of being a man grows deeper and deeper in Season 2, and we get a lot of time to explore what that is, but it won’t be in the literal way that you think it is.”

Sarah’s death was a defining moment in Jim Hopper’s story arc, and it will be very interesting to gain more insight into the event. If you recall, during a Season 1 flashback, Sarah saw something on the playground that terrified her. What was it? Hopefully we’ll get some answers.

It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

The second season of Stranger Things sees the return of cast members Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobbie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer and Joe Keery, along with new additions Sean Astin (The Goonies), Paul Reiser (Aliens), Linnea Berthelsen (The Desert), Sadie Sink (Odyssey), Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers) and Brett Gelman (Brett Gelman’s Dinner in America). It will hit Netflix on October 27th.
