With the Autumn season of programming quickly approaching, BBC One has given us the first teaser for their new drama The Child in Time, starring Benedict Cumberbatch. The TV movie is based upon Ian McEwan’s novel from 1987 and sees Cumberbatch as Stephen Lewis, a famous children’s author whose life is forever changed when is daughter is kidnapped during a routine trip to the supermarket. Benedict Cumberbatch is joined in the cast of The Child in Time by Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire) as Lewis’ estranged wife, and Stephen Campbell Moore (The Bank Job, Season of the Witch) and Saskia Reeves (Anna, A Christmas Carol) as his two best friends.
