Fox has given a pilot commitment to a new single camera comedy project from producer Trevor Engelson, the ex-husband of Prince Harry’s girlfriend, actress Meghan Markle, which is inspired by real life events and will revolve around a couple who get divorced, only for the woman to then marry into the British Royal Family.
Deadline reports that the logline for the potential series reads: “Divorce is hard. Sharing custody is harder. Sharing custody with the British Royal family when your wife marries a prince, in the unforgiving spotlight of London’s tabloid media, is next level.”
Engelson is teaming up with Modern Family’s Danny Zuker and producers Jake Kasdan (New Girl) and Dan Farah (The Shannara Chronicles) to develop the series, while the pilot will be directed by Christine Gernon (Speechless).
