The Flash Season 4 Episode 3 Review – ‘Luck Be a Lady’

October 27, 2017 by Jessie Robertson

Jessie Robertson reviews the third episode of The Flash season 4…

It’s as if anytime Harrison Wells (any Harrison Wells) is on, the episode is good.  Weird, right?

It’s goofy as hell, but this jives so much better with what The Flash should be.  Our villain of the week: Literally a woman who’s always had bad luck gains good luck powers and uses them to, what a surprise, basically get rich.   Which causes lots of bad things for The Flash family, including losing Barry and Iris both of their planned wedding venues, destroying Joe’s house and causing The Flash to trip on marbles in the street.  Yep.

As if that wasn’t enough, I know these CW shows destroy a lot of important locations but to tear down the West family house just felt sacrilege to me.  It brings up the argument that should Joe and Cecile should possibly get their own place instead of trying to just fix up an old home of Joe’s.   But, how can Joe leave when Iris and Barry’s whole childhood took place there?  Give him credit; by episode’s end, he was for the idea, but then it was Cecile who was more warm to the idea.  Why is that you ask?…..wait and see.

Wells and Cisco pick right back up where they left off with their bickering feud and it’s glorious.  Jessie breaks up with Wally using a “Break up cube” (why isn’t this a thing a millennial will surely create?) and Wally decides to go “live with a friend”.   What?   It was one of those weird things a jealous ex would do as they are taking care of the mission, Wally states from a lone corner “You guys didn’t even notice I wasn’t there?”   He has literally done nothing this season apart from a bit in the opener; maybe it’s best if he leaves for a bit.

And talk about cold endings: Joe’s face when Cecile tells him she’s pregnant?   Wow.   Can’t believe I’m about to say I’m excited for next week.

Rating: 9/10
