Emma Roberts and Hayden Christensen heading to Little Italy

November 3, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Screen Daily is reporting that Emma Roberts and Hayden Christensen are set to headline Little Italy, a modern retelling of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet from director Donald Petrie.

According to the site, the film follows “a trainee chef and an aspiring restaurateur from warring pizza clans who fall in love. While their fathers are sworn business rivals, their mothers are in fact secret best friends and their grandparents enjoy a clandestine romance of their own. When the fathers hear of their adult children’s blossoming romance, they orchestrate a pizza cook-off to determine who will be forced to leave town.”

“We are thrilled at the opportunity to represent the newest feature from acclaimed romantic comedy director Donald Petrie, Little Italy,” said Alexandra Cocean, executive vice-president of sales at Voltage Pictures. “A strong cast, along with the pedigree of the filmmaking team, make the title an excellent addition to our international lineup of titles at the AFM.”

In addition to Roberts and Christensen, the film also stars Alyssa Milano, Danny Aiello, Andrea Martin and Jane Seymour.
