San Diego Comic-Con 2013 – Sunday Highlights

July 22, 2013 by admin

Rounding up the highlights from the closing day of the San Diego Comic-Con International including Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: The Dark World, Doctor Who, Breaking Bad, The Originals, Supernatural, American Dad!, Revolution and more….

After Saturday’s big movie highlights, it was time for the small screen to take over the San Diego Comic-Con for its closing day yesterday, with Sunday bringing a number of big TV panels. However, before we get to those, if Marvel’s explosive Hall H presentation wasn’t enough for you, Sunday also delivered a couple more goodies – namely, our first look at Star-Lord’s (Chris Pratt) mask, which was part of a Guardians of the Galaxy display, which also happened to be guarded by a member of the Nova Corps…

…While Hasbro also gave us our first glimpse of Thor: The Dark World’s second villain – kind of – by unveiling the action figure for Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje‘s Kurse…

…Outgoing Doctor Matt Smith was joined by showrunner Steven Moffat, writer Mark Gatiss, co-star Jenna Louise-Coleman for Doctor Who’s Hall H panel, which included the first trailer for the upcoming 50th Anniversary Special of the British sci-fi series, as well as a trailer for this year’s Who docudrama An Adventure in Space and Time (also on hand was Game of Thrones star David Bradley, who is set to portray William Hartnell in the BBC production); while we await the online release of the trailer, io9 has posted a detailed recap, and you can click the image below to see the first stills from both the 50th Anniversary Special and An Adventure in Space and Time…

…The cast and crew of Breaking Bad were also on hand for their final Comic-Con appearance ahead of the final season of the acclaimed AMC series; head over to HitFix for a detailed recap of the panel, and check out a ‘mash-up’ video of the best moments from the first five seasons right here…

…A few Comic-Con trailers also surfaced online yesterday, beginning with The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals…

…Along with fellow CW show Supernatural…

…A season 10 trailer for the animated comedy series American Dad!…

….And a sneak peek at season two of Revolution…

…Finally, be sure to check out recaps of the panels for Community, The Following, Sons of Anarchy and Under the Dome, as well as George R.R. Martin discussing the comic book adaptation of his 1989 novella Skin Trade.

Well, that about wraps things up for the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con – if you missed them, take a look at our recaps of Preview Night, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, along with Anghus Houvouras’ San Diego Score Card.
