Mindhunter star Cameron Britton, who portrayed serial killer Edmund Kemper in the acclaimed Netflix drama, has become the latest addition to the cast of Sony’s The Girl in the Spider’s Web, with Variety reporting that he has secured a “key role” as a computer expert who is a close associate of Lisbeth Salander.
The film, a sequel/reboot to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, is being directed by Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe) and sees Claire Foy (The Crown) portraying Lisbeth Salander along with Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049) as Lisbeth’s twin sister and Claes Bang (The Square) as the villain. The script has been penned by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) along with Alvarez and Jay Basu.
The Girl in the Spider’s Web is based upon David Lagercrantz’s 2015 bestseller, the first book in the Millennium series not penned by creator Stieg Larsson. It is set for release on October 19th, 2018.
