Christmas comes early for Gran Turismo Sport fans with major update

December 22, 2017 by David Dodgson

The latest updates for Gran Turismo Sport have gone live giving players a major new content boost. Update 1.09, weighing in at over 2.7GB, adds new game modes, cars, tracks and other features according to the Polyphony Digital release notes.

The main addition that will be of interest to long-time fans of the racing series is the return of the ‘GT League’ campaign. This offline mode includes competitions, such as the classic ‘Sunday Cup’ and ‘FF Challenge’ from previous versions, which the player will join using cars in their garage collection.

Speaking of cars, 12 new vehicles have been added from manufacturers such as Nissan, Ford, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. A new track layout named “Kyoto Driving Park Yamagiwa + Miyabi” also comes with the update.

Along with enhancements to the controls and sound effects, seasonal cosmetic updates and photo scenes are now featured through scapes. A 1.10 update has also been released, which makes minor fixes and increases stability.

Further updates are planned for 2018 with more tracks and 50 new cars promised by next March.

The release is available now as an automatic download for all owners of the PS4 exclusive title.
