THEC64 Mini gets Boulder Dash, complete games list and release date revealed

Retro Games Ltd. – those behind THEC64 Mini – have today made a number of rather excellent announcements, especially for all us classic gamers.  The first being that the excellent Boulder Dash – in its original 1984 version – is to be pre-installed on the device.  This is due to BBG Entertainment GmbH, leading producers and publishers of digital entertainment and therapeutic software giving the thumbs up to and Retro Games Ltd.  The next blast of good news is the fact that the final games list has been announced as well as the machines release date!

Boulder Dash, first published by First Star Software, Inc. in 1984 and has appeared on many platforms throughout it’s 34 year existence, from the ZX Spectrum – you can watch a video of that here – to the Apple II, of course the C64.  Currently it’s available on Google Play, the Apple iTunes App Store, and for both PC & MAC (over on Steam) you’ll find the Boulder Dash 30th Anniversary Edition.  However as stated above on THEC64 Mini  it’s the original 1984 version Boulder Dash pre-installed, though unlike the original C64 you’ll be able to connect this machine upto a HDTV.

Also released today is the complete list of games that will be pre-installed on THEC64 Mini.  With Sixty-Four titles in total, being delivered from classic software developers including:- Epyx, Gremlin Graphics, Hewson and The Bitmap Brothers.

AlleyKat, Anarchy, Armalyte: Competition Edition, Avenger, Battle Valley, Boulder Dash, Bounder, California Games, Chip’s Challenge, Confuzion, Creatures, Cyberdyne Warrior, Cybernoid: The Fighting Machine, Cybernoid II: The Revenge, Deflektor, Everyone’s A Wally, Firelord, Gribbly’s Day Out, Hawkeye, Heartland, Herobotix, Highway Encounter, Hunter’s Moon, Hysteria, Impossible Mission, Impossible Mission II, IO, Jumpman, Mega Apocalypse, Mission A.D, Monty Mole, Monty on the Run, Nebulus, Netherworld, Nobby the Aardvark, Nodes Of Yesod, Paradroid, Pitstop II, Rana Rama, Robin Of The Wood, Rubicon, Skate Crazy, Skool Daze, Snare, Speedball, Speedball II: Brutal Deluxe, Spindizzy, Star Paws, Steel, Street Sports Baseball, Summer Games II (inc. Summer Games I), Super Cycle, Temple of Apshai Trilogy, The Arc Of Yesod, Thing on a Spring, Thing Bounces Back, Trailblazer, Cosmic Causeway: Trailblazer II, Uchi Mata, Uridium, Who Dares Wins II, Winter Games, World Games, Zynaps.

Finally the release date for THEC64 Mini has been set for the 29th March 2018, with some eagle-eyed gamers already spotting it available to pre-order at Argos and Smyths Toy Shop.
