Ben Affleck to play The Accountant for Warner Bros.

October 2, 2014 by James Garcia

Variety reports that Ben Affleck has found his next starring role, as he’s currently in negotiations to star in an action thriller for Warner Brothers called The Accountant. While no official offer has been made, WB is looking to Warrior director Gavin O’Connor to helm the project.

Written by Bill Dubuque (The Judge), The Accountant centers on a mild-mannered accountant who moonlights as a legal assassin. The film has been stuck in development hell for a few years now, most recently nearing production over at Sony with Will Smith attached to star.

Affleck will likely begin work on the film in between co-starring in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and jumping into the director’s chair for his next feature, Live By Night in July.
