Sebastian Stan wants to keep playing Bucky after Infinity War, keen on appearing in the Black Widow solo movie

April 10, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Sebastian Stan has revealed that he would like to keep playing Bucky Barnes after Avengers: Infinity War, including in a Black Widow solo film.

With Infinity War and Avengers 4 set to be such game changing events, leading to a whole new era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there has been a lot of talk about which actors will be continuing on in their roles.

One actor who certainly wants to stay put is Sebastian Stan, who would like to keep playing Bucky for many years to come. Speaking to Hey U Guys, Stan said:

“I know we had conversations about what potentially might happen, where he would go, and where he wouldn’t go.” Stan explained. “But, it’s just so hard to predict, you know? Because it’s just, over time, it depends on the fans. It depends on all kinds of things. But it’s been a blessing to see it come this far. And like I said, we knew we could potentially do a Winter Soldier movie, or any of those things. And so far it’s been great, so knock on wood, you know? It keeps going.”

So apart from a Winter Solider movie, where else might we see Bucky? Well, according to Stan (via BadeTaste. It), an appearance in a Black Widow movie would be interesting to him:

“They have a very nice history in my opinion. It’s very intricate…the truth is he actually taught her in the comic books. He was a teacher to her. It’s all set during a specific, interesting time. The Cold War. It’s all a very…spy, thrillerish, noirish story…it would be very interesting to explore that on film. I would love it if they do that. You know, I hope. Maybe they will.”

Looking a little closer to the present, Stan has also commented on how Bucky fits in with the Avengers and how the character is dealing with the situation in Infinity War:

“I would say at this point he’s just trying to find his alliances again. He’s finally just got a break, you know? He’s finally been embraced in a whole new world and being looked after — sort of developing trust with people. There’s obviously a huge thing coming, a huge threat coming requiring his help so he wants to gain that trust and maintain it. So, he’s just along for the ride right now.”
