Is The Simpsons killing off Ralph Wiggum in 2017?

November 11, 2014 by admin

The Simpsons hit the news earlier this year when they announced that they would be killing off a character in the debut episode of Season 26, which ended up being the father of Krusty the Clown, Herschel Krustofski. Well, during the closing credits of the crossover episode with Futurama (check out some clips from “Simpsorama” here), a shot during the closing credits seems to suggest that the creators are also planning to kill off fan favourite Ralph Wiggum in 2017.

Not Ralph!

Fear not though, as according to Executive Producer Al Jean, we shouldn’t take this too seriously. “[it was] just a random joke. In a previous future show, we saw Ralph as a police chief with multiple clones — each being killed. Some have interpreted 2017 as the last year of the show, which is possible but I doubt it.”

Phew.

In the episode “Simpsorama”, the cast of Futurama travel back to present day Springfield. This is the second Simpsons crossover this year with the Springfielders being paid a visit from the cast of Family Guy in “The Simpsons Guy”, which aired a couple of months ago.
