Matt Fraction’s Sex Criminals comic is coming to television

February 25, 2015 by James Garcia

According to Deadline, Universal has just made a two-year deal with husband and wife comic book creators Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick. That deal will allow the duo to use their Milkfed Criminal Masterminds production company to adapt not only their work, but the work of other comic book creators for television.

Fraction and DeConnick have already set their sights on one exciting property: Fraction and artist Chip Zdarsky’s critically acclaimed Sex Criminals.

Voted Time Magazine’s best comic of the year in 2013, Sex Criminals tells the tale of Suzie, a woman who can stop time when she has sex. when she meets a man named John with the same ability, the two do what any time-stopping, love-making couple would do: they rob banks.

Universal’s Bela Bejaria released a statement about the new partnership, saying:

“We’re always excited to usher in fresh voices to the television space, and we couldn’t be more thriller to partner with Matt and Kelly Sue, a fantastic pair whose award-winning comics are as deeply realized as they are entertaining.”

There’s no word yet on what else Fraction and DeConnick hope to adapt, but Sex Criminals is a bold and fantastic start.
