Mark Ruffalo disappointed in lack of Black Widow merchandise for Avengers: Age of Ultron

May 4, 2015 by Robert Kojder

In an age where society seems to be pushing forward towards gender equality, you would think Marvel and Disney would offer up a plethora of merchandise options for both its male and female heroes, but that isn’t quite the case. Recently the merchandise line-up for Avengers: Age of Ultron was revealed, and it only contains three items for Black Widow fans. Meanwhile, there is absolutely nothing for Scarlet Witch.

Even the stars of the film seem to be upset about this as Mark Ruffalo took to Twitter to voice his displeasure, saying that he would like to buy his daughters and nieces some Black Widow swag.

.@Marvel we need more #BlackWidow merchandise for my daughters and nieces. Pretty please.

— Mark Ruffalo (@MarkRuffalo) April 29, 2015

It’s hard to argue that he doesn’t have a point, so what is the deal Marvel? Even as a 25-year-old male I’d love to own a Scarlet Witch figure or rock a shirt with her on it.
