Action thriller Midnight to star Rosario Dawson, Alexandra Shipp and Milla Jovovich

August 13, 2024 by Ricky Church

Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka), Alexandra Shipp (Barbie) and Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) have completed production on Midnight, an action thriller Dawson produced from debut feature director Joshua Otis Miller, per Deadline.

Midnight follows “a young, blind woman (Shipp) as she is hunted by a group of international criminals (led by Jovovich) searching for a package they believe was given to the woman by her federal agent sister (Dawson). However, the assailants quickly realize that the woman, though unable to see, may be far more dangerous than expected.”

The film is written by Lamont Magee and Jeff Byrd with Yale Productions’ Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman producing with Dawson, Leah Elizabeth Rucinski and Timothy Christian and Rab Butler for Night Fox Entertainment.

“Without giving away too much, ‘Midnight’ is an awesome action movie, revolving around duty and sacrifice,” Dawson said of the film. “It’s about coming into your own and embracing your independence, but at its core, it’s a movie about family and that’s what really resonated with me. I’m so thrilled to be a part of such an incredible project with this spectacular cast and crew.”

“Partnering with Rosario on this film has been an amazing experience,” said Levine and Beckerman. “She’s a remarkably talented actress, and we couldn’t be more impressed by her creative process as a producer. Dawson, along with Alexandra Shipp and Milla Jovovich, give action packed fantastic performances, and we cannot wait for audiences to see ‘Midnight.'”

Midnight will be presented to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
