Action thriller Yakuza Princess gets a trailer and poster

August 7, 2021 by Amie Cranswick

A poster and trailer have arrived online for director Vicente Amorim’s upcoming action thriller Yakuza Princess. Based on Danilo Beyruth’s graphic novel Samurai Shiro, the film follows orphan Akemi (Masumi) as she discovers she is the heiress to half of the Yakuza crime syndicate and is forced to form an alliance with an amnesiac stranger (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) to unleash war against those who want her dead; take a look here…

Set in the expansive Japanese community of Sao Paulo in Brazil — the largest Japanese diaspora in the world — YAKUZA PRINCESS follows Akemi (MASUMI), an orphan who discovers she is the heiress to half of the Yakuza crime syndicate. Forging an uneasy alliance with an amnesiac stranger (Rhys Meyers) who believes an ancient sword binds their two fates, Akemi must unleash war against the other half of the syndicate who wants her dead.

Yakuza Princess is set for release on September 3rd.
