Adrien Brody to star in Stephen King TV adaptation Jerusalem’s Lot

December 20, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Oscar-winner Adrien Brody is set to lead the cast of Jerusalem’s Lot, a ten-episode straight-to-series adaptation of the Stephen King short story which has been ordered by Epix.

Written by Peter Filardi (Flatliners) and Jason Filardi (17 Again) with Donald De Line (Wayward Pines) producing, Jerusalem’s Lot takes place in the 1850s and will see Brody as Captain Charles Boone, “who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.”

“This series is an intense, absolutely terrifying reimagining of classic gothic horror,” said Epix president Michael Wright. “We can’t wait to work with the exceptional team of Donald De Line and Jason and Peter Filardi, along with our phenomenal lead actor, Adrien Brody… and of course, when it comes to horror, it doesn’t get any better or more masterful than Stephen King.”

Peter Filardi does have past experience with King’s works, having written the 2004 TV adaptation of Salem’s Lot for TNT, where Wright was VP of Movies and Miniseries at the time.

Jerusalem’s Lot is one of several King-based TV series in the works, alongside 2020’s The Outsider [watch the trailer here], as well as Lisey’s Story and The Stand.
