AEW: Fight Forever trailer teases a throwback to the best wrestling games

November 21, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Do you remember the era when someone could pick up a controller and easily fall into a fighting game? More specifically, do you remember the days of playing wrestling games with your friends and having a wild time? All Elite Wrestling seems to recall those times and wants to bring us back.

During Full Gear weekend, which saw MJF dethrone Jon Moxley for the World title, AEW officially debuted all-new AEW: Fight Forever gameplay footage. The new look at AEW’s first game shows a style and tone familiar to classic games like WWF No Mercy and WCW/nWo Revenge.

While it won’t feel simplistic, AEW: Fight Forever seems to be aiming for a “pick-up and play” style. Something hardcore fans and newcomers could both enjoy, giving room for a wrestling game experience like no other.

Check out the trailer below:

We expect an in-game talent roster of more than 50 wrestlers and nearly ten match types, including the infamous Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match.

The complete list of features includes:

  • Match Types
    • Single Matches
    • Tag-Team
    • 3-Way
    • 4-Way
    • Ladder Matches
    • Casino Battle Royale
    • Falls Count Anywhere
    • Unsanctioned Lights-Out (allows use of weapons)
    • Exploding Barbed Wire Death Matches
  • Career Mode
  • Wide Range of Customization Modes
    • Custom Wrestlers (attire and appearance)
    • Custom Move-Sets
    • Custom Entrances
    • Custom Teams
    • Custom Arenas
  • Online Multiplayer
  • Leaderboards
