Allison Williams joins Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2

As we get closer to the second season premiere of Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, the streaming service has revealed via their Twitter a new addition to the cast: Allison Williams (Girls).

Williams will star in the second season, though her role is keeping kept under wraps for the time being. Its unclear if she’ll be one of the Baudelaire’s next guardians or someone else in the story. Given the fates of the guardians the Baudelaire’s come into contact with, don’t expect Williams to stick around too long.

Season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events is expected to adapt books five through nine of the series while the third season, which is currently being filmed, will adapt the remaining four.

Starring Emmy and Tony Award-winner Neil Patrick Harris, A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans – Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – and their extraordinary encounters with the devious Count Olaf who will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. Foiling his many dastardly plans and disguises, the young siblings discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death, links to a covert organization, and begin to unlock long-held family secrets.

Season 2 of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events is set to arrive on Netflix on March 30th and sees the return of cast members Neil Patrick Harris, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, Presley Smith, alongside newcomers Kitana Turnbull, Nathan Fillion, Tony Hale, Lucy Punch, Sara Rue, and Roger Bart.
