AMC drops first look at Lestat and Louis in Interview With the Vampire

April 8, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Anne Rice’s world of vampires has laid dormant since 2002 dud Queen of the Damned attempted to build on the success of Neil Jordan’s lavish 1994 blockbuster Interview with the Vampire. Now AMC are summoning them forth for a new adaptation of the 1976 novel and have just released four stills featuring the iconic duo of Lestat and Louis, played here by The Hunting‘s Sam Reid, and Game of Thrones alumni Jacob Anderson.

Following our first look at the fledgling vampire and his cultured sire during AMC’s Super Bowl commercial, the network dropped these pics from their early days in 1791 Spanish Louisiana, where their combustible relationship is formed following plantation owner Louis de Pointe du Lac’s turning by the enigmatic vampire Lestat.

AMC will be hoping that this is just the start of their Anne Rice world-building having bought the rights to The Vampire Chronicles series of books, as well as spin-off novels The Lives of the Mayfair Witches, which is also in development at the network.

Debuting sometime towards the end of 2022, and consisting of eight-episodes, Interview with the Vampire will see Rolin Jones (The Exorcist, Perry Mason) serving as showrunner on the series with Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor helming the first two episodes. Mark Johnson, Anne Rice and Christopher Rice will executive produce the series.
