Anne Hathaway open to Catwoman spin-off movie

September 11, 2016 by Gary Collinson

While it would seem highly improbable given that Warner Bros. is now in full swing with its DC Extended Universe, Anne Hathaway has revealed that she’s open to reprising the role of Selina Kyle from The Dark Knight Rises should the opportunity for a Catwoman spinoff film ever arise.

“I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her,” said Hathaway in an interview with Variety. “I’m not sure how it would work because I think the Chris Nolan chapter of the Batman story has been wrapped up and I’m part of that, but I love the DC Universe and it would be fun to take a trip back.”

More likely is that Warner Bros. and DC Films will introduce a new Catwoman into the DCEU, and Hathaway went on to state that she has no issue with another actress taking on the iconic role:

“I  don’t think you can [feel possessive]. It sort of goes with the territory when you accept it and receive it from the last Catwoman. I was shown such generosity from Halle Berry and from Michelle Pfeiffer, and so I would do that the next time as well.”

Would you like to see Anne Hathaway back as Catwoman? Who should take on the role for the DC Extended Universe? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
