Arrowverse’s ‘Elseworlds’ crossover adds DC supervillain Psycho-Pirate

November 5, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Not content with debuting Batwoman, Lois Lane, John Wesley Shipp’s 90s Flash, The Monitor and Nora Fries, the upcoming Arrowverse crossover ‘Elseworlds’ is set to introduce another DC Comics character in Roger Hayden, a.k.a. Psycho-Pirate.

The character, who is being portrayed by Bob Frazer (The 100), will be appearing in the Arrow and Supergirl episodes of the crossover, where he’ll be an inmate at Arkham Asylym under Jeremy Davies’ villainous Dr. John Deegan.

The first incarnation of Psycho-Pirate, Charles Halstead, debuted in All-Star Comics #23 back in 1944, with the Roger Hayden version making his first appearance in Showcase #56 in 1965.

Hayden’s Psycho-Pirate was previously referenced in The Flash in the episode ‘Nora’, where Hayden was quoted in a newspaper article from 2049 talking about Barry Allen’s final battle with the Reverse-Flash. His appearance in the crossover will mark his live-action debut.

In addition to Grant Gustin (The Flash), Stephen Amell (Green Arrow), Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) and their fellow series regulars, the three-parter will feature guest appearances from Tyler Hoechlin (Superman), Ruby Rose (Batwoman), Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane), John Wesley Shipp (Jay Garrick/The Flash), Cassandra Jean Amell (Nora Fries), LaMonica Garrett (The Monitor), Bob Frazer (Psycho-Pirate) and Jeremy Davis (Dr. John Deegan).
