Avengers 4 title “speaks to the heart of the story”

May 1, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Since the announcement that Marvel was dropping the Part I and Part II from Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, the studio has been referring to the 2019 release as ‘Untitled Avengers‘.

Now that Infinity War is here, it’s presumably only a matter of time until we get the title reveal for the next movie, and speaking to Bustle, co-director Anthony Russo has teased that the title will “speak to the heart of the story”.

“We do have a name for it, we’re just not announcing it,” he confirmed. “And I think we came to that name fairly early in the development process. It speaks to the heart of the story.”

Meanwhile, in an interview with IGN, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has revealed that he believes the decision to withhold the title has “backfired”:

“I’ve said before, it’s gotten entirely out of hand. And now will have no chance to living up to any expectations of what it’s gonna be. And it sort of backfired, if I’m honest with you, because the notion was to not talk about it so the focus was to be on [Infinity War].”
