Avengers: Infinity War directors considered not having any post credits scenes

April 17, 2018 by Samuel Brace

The directors of Avengers: Infinity War considered forgoing any post credits scenes for the movie.

Marvel has become known for the post credits scenes at the end of their movies, acting sometimes as a small tease for future films, and sometimes as a fun little extra moment for fans to enjoy before they leave.

At this point it’s absolutely expected, if not demanded, by fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe so it might come as a surprise to hear that Joe and Anthony Russo considered not having one at all for Infinity War.

“It’s hard to comment on that again, because we don’t want to speak to the experience too specifically,” Anthony Russo told Radio Times about the consideration of post credits scenes.

His brother Joe added, however, that not having any was a consideration: “It’s certainly something you consider, but it’s like Ant said, we wrote a letter begging the fans not to spoil the movie for each other, so we don’t want to spoil it for them.”

While not giving anything away about the post credits scenes included in the upcoming movie, it’s certainly interesting to hear that they weren’t always a given.
