Ben Affleck confirms that The Batman will start shooting in the spring

December 14, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Over the past few months we’ve heard conflicting reports as to the status of The Batman, with Warner Bros. seemingly keen to fast track the project through production, and director, co-writer and star Ben Affleck suggesting he’s not yet ready to move forward with the movie.

Just yesterday we brought you some comments from Affleck, who said he’s yet to complete the screenplay and is “not in any hurry to jam the mediocre movie down the pipe”, but now he has revealed that production will indeed get underway in the Spring (as previously suggested by Joe Manganiello), telling Variety that: “We’re on the right track with that and everything is coming together. We’re still finishing up a script. I’m very excited.”

As yet there’s no official word on a release date for The Batman, but with Aquaman recently pushed back to October 2018, it would seem that July 27th 2018 could be a very good shout.
