Ben Mendelsohn and Anthony Ramos set for Rob Savage’s new horror Molepeople

October 31, 2024 by Matt Rodgers

Ben Mendelsohn and Anthony Ramos are set to burrow their way beneath the streets of New York City to star in Rob Savage’s next horror movie Molepeople.

According to Deadline the Host and Boogeyman director is prepping to work from a script written by Succession‘s Nathan Elston, which tells the story of a secret community living beneath the Manhattan streets.

The pitch for Molepeople reveals that the film will follow “one man’s nightmarish descent into the abandoned tunnels beneath the streets of New York City, where a twisted society lurks.”

Molepeople will be produced by Raphael Margules and J.D Lifshitz of BoulderLight Pictures (Barbarian), who will work alongside Rough House Pictures (Halloween).

Rob Savage burst onto the genre scene with his pandemic poltergeist hit Host, and then backed that up with the equally inventive Dashcam. His graduation to the Hollywood horror scene came with 2023’s Boogeyman, which scared up almost $70 million at the worldwide box-office.

Anthony Ramos is coming off the back of starring in one of 2024’s best blockbusters, the $370 million grossing Twisters, and can be seen next in Marvel Studios’ TV-series Ironheart, while Mendelsohn will appear on the same streaming service, reprising his role of Orson Krennic in season 2 of Disney+’s Andor.
