Benedict Cumberbatch on what to expect from Avengers: Infinity War

September 21, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Benedict Cumberbatch has told fans what to expect when Avengers: Infinity War releases.

Even though it won’t be released until April 2018, talk regarding the next Avengers movie is as prevalent as ever. Every man and his dog wants to know just what to expect from what will likely be one of the biggest blockbusters ever made, and this is just what Doctor Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, says to expect.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the English actor said: “It’s ten years coming. It’s just a huge, huge, huge amount of work, huge amount of storylines and it’s all sort of pointing to this confrontation….It’s amazing to be part of it even though I’m late to the party, it’s very cool to be part of it.”

So, not much there from Cumberbatch in terms of details or juicy plot spoilers but it’s good to see that the actor is as excited as everyone else. It certainly should be quite the occasion and another monster hit for Disney coming so soon after this December’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27th 2018 in the UK and May 4th 2018 in the US and will feature an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Sean Gunn (Rocket, Kraglin), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Benicio Del Toro (The Collector), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Winston Duke (M’Baku) and Peter Dinklage, Terry Notary and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
