Big Finish’s Torchwood comes to an end with Torchwood: Fare Well

May 28, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Big Finish Productions’ Torchwood range comes to an end with the release of their one-hundredth episode, Torchwood: Fare Well. It’s been twenty years since we first encountered the mysterious Torchwood Institute, and thanks to Big Finish, listeners have followed their many stories. Now, this final tale focuses on the heart of Torchwood, Ianto Jones.

When viewers were first introduced to Torchwood in the TV episodes Army of Ghosts and Doomsday, we didn’t know that the organisation’s mission would be expanded through its own spin-off TV series. Since the TV series ended, fans have been treated to adventures and excitement from Big Finish’s Torchwood range. This range has taken listeners from the organisation’s beginnings in the Victorian era, through the 20th and 21st centuries, and even into the far future. But this final outing in the range takes us back to the aftermath of the Battle of Canary Wharf.

This hundredth episode features the young Torchwood recruit Ianto Jones (Gareth David-Lloyd) and veteran agent Tommy Pierce (Timothy Bentinck) as they handle the fallout of that disastrous battle. The pair have fought side by side against many invaders, but their friendship is about to be tested when they realise that not every Cyberman was defeated. In the cellar of a house in the village of Wetwang, a Cyberman still remains.

Starring alongside Gareth David-Lloyd and Timothy Bentinck are Devante Fleming as Jason and Alistair Toovey as George.

Don’t be sad, though, Torchwood fans. The regular range may have come to an end, but a brand-new miniseries will arrive next year with more adventures and mysteries.

Torchwood: Fare Well is now available for £8.99 for the download, or £13.99 for the download and limited collector’s edition CD.
