Billy Bob Thornton returning for Bad Santa 2, release set for Christmas 2016

October 30, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Having been teased for a couple of years now, Variety is reporting that Bad Santa 2 is finally moving forward, with Billy Bob Thornton set to reprise the role of Willy Soke for the sequel to the cult 2003 comedy.

“We’ve been waiting far too long to see Billy Bob’s Willie Soke mess with the holiday season in his own unique way,” said Zanne Devine of Miramax, who is partnering with Broad Green Pictures to produce the film.

Production on Bad Santa 2 is set to get underway in January, ready for a release during the 2016 holiday season.
