Blue Beetle’s Ángel Manuel Soto to direct Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa in The Wrecking Crew

August 22, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

Blue Beetle’ Director Ángel Manuel Soto is following up his DC duties by directing superhero alumni Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa in their buddy action movie The Wrecking Crew.

According to The Wrap The Wrecking Crew was written by The Adam Project’s Jonathan Tropper prior to the current strikes, and while plot details are thin on the ground, the film is being described as a buddy action movie.

Bautista and Momoa have been touting the project for a couple of years now, and having worked with Tropper on Apple TV+ series See, and shared the epic canvas of Denis Villenueve’s Dune, they’re ready to team up once again under the guidance of Ángel Manuel Soto.

Soto, who is also writing a Transformers movie for Paramount, is currently basking in the glow of a number one movie at the North American box-office, while Bautista and Momoa were last seen flexing their action and comedic chops in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Fast X respectively.

Let us know what you think about the return of the buddy action movie, and if you think Bautista and Momoa are a good fit by heading to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
