Blumhouse and Todd McFarlane’s Spawn reboot has a title

July 22, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Blumhouse and Todd McFarlane’s Spawn has a new title, and the movie is finally moving forward. With Jamie Foxx rumored to still be in the starring role, it was announced that the film is now titled King Spawn.

The title is based on the recent run of comics of the same name. At one point during his ruin in the comics, Spawn was actually the King of Hell. Created by Todd McFarlane, the character first appeared in Spawn #1, going back to May 1992.

King Spawn is being written by Scott Silver (Joker), Malcolm Spellman (Falcon and the Winter Soldier), and Max Mixon (Yesterday Was Everything) from an earlier draft Spawn creator Todd McFarlane wrote.

McFarlane was going to direct the film himself for a while but decided to vacate the director’s chair in the hopes of attracting a big-name filmmaker. At the time of writing, there’s no director attached to the project.
