Bradley Cooper to join Margot Robbie in Ocean’s 11 prequel

October 11, 2025 by Ricky Church

After lying dormant for a couple of years since the last update, Warner Bros. is beginning to move forward with the Ocean’s 11 prequel starring Margot Robbie. The film will be directed by Twisters‘ Lee Isaac Chung with Bradley Cooper (Maestro) set to lead the film alongside Robbie.

The prequel has been in development for quite a few years now with Robbie originally starring opposite Ryan Gosling, but Robbie’s Barbie co-star seems to have departed the project for unspecified reasons. The roles Robbie and Cooper will play are being kept under wraps, as is the story and exact time setting.

Ocean’s 11 follows a group of conmen and burglars as they plan to pull off an impossible heist of several Las Vegas casinos. The original film was released in 1960 and starred the Rat Pack of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop and Angie Dickinson. A remake was made in 2001 with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts which spawned two sequels and the spin-off Ocean’s 8 with Sandra Bullock.

The Ocean’s 11 prequel has been written by Carrie Solomon (A Family Affair) and will be produced by Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment. Production will begin next year.

What do you think of an Ocean’s 11 prequel? Does the involvement of Robbie and Cooper intrigue you? Let us know on our social channels at @FlickeringMyth…
