Broadway legend Patti LuPone joins Marvel’s Agatha: Coven Of Chaos

December 23, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Patti LuPone is getting witchy once again as Deadline reports the Broadway icon and American Horror Story alum is set to join the budding cast of Agatha: Coven Of Chaos, the WandaVision spin-off coming to Disney+. The series will be led by a returning Kathryn Hahn, reprising the role of Agatha Harkness.

LuPone is best known for the 1979 original Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita, as well as the 2008 Broadway revival of Gypsy. She’s also starred in two seasons of American Horror Story: Coven and NYC and will be next seen in Beau Is Afraid, an upcoming surrealist comedy horror film written, directed, and produced by Ari Aster. The actress has three Tony Awards, along with Olivier Awards and two Grammy Awards.

LuPone joins the returning Hahn, Emma Caulfield, and MCU newcomers Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation), Joe Locke (Heartstopper), Ali Ahn (Raising Dion), and Maria Dizzia (The Staircase) in the cast of the series.

Jac Schaefer, the original head writer and executive producer for WandaVision will return to those roles for Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Schaefer will also craft the recently announced Vision Quest spin-off.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is set to air on Disney+ in 2023 as part of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
