Caitlin Cronenberg’s feature debut Humane gets a trailer from IFC Films

March 22, 2024 by Amie Cranswick

IFC Films has released a poster and trailer for the dystopian thriller Humane, the feature directorial debut of Caitlin Cronenberg, daughter of legendary filmmaker David Cronenberg.

Set over the course of a single day, the film sees world leaders forced to make the extreme decision to reduce the Earth’s population following a global environmental collapse and centres on the family of a retired newsman as he announces his intention to his adult children to enlist in the euthanasia program. Watch the trailer below…

“Humane takes place over a single day, mere months after a global ecological collapse has forced world leaders to take extreme measures to reduce the earth’s population. In a wealthy enclave, a recently retired newsman has invited his grown children to dinner to announce his intentions to enlist in the nation’s new euthanasia program. But when the father’s plan goes horribly awry, tensions flare and chaos erupts among his children.”

Featuring in the cast of Humane are Jay Baruchel, Emily Hampshire, and Peter Gallagher.

Humane arrives in cinemas on April 26th.
