Captain America 4 retitled Captain America: Brave New World

June 6, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Somebody call Hulk Hogan as the New World Order is now dead. That is, when it comes to Captain America films, as the upcoming fourth installment in the Marvel franchise has undergone a name change.

The film was once titled Captain America: New World Order, but as shown in some brand new set photos, the film is now going by the title Captain America: Brave New World.

The news comes from a set photo shared by Anthony Mackie, where he’s sharing a laugh with Harrison Ford, and the production chairs noted the brand-new name. We also get a brand new look at Ford as he prepares to take on the role of General Ross.

As for why the name was changed, Marvel Studios has yet to confirm. It could be as simple as wanting a fresher name, but we could also see Disney/Marvel wanted to avoid any conspiracy theories associated with the name, leading to more unneeded political discourse for the brand.

Check out Mackie’s Instagram post below…

The film is set to star Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Harrison Ford as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a returning Liv Tyler reprising her role as Betty Ross from The Incredible Hulk, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Time Blake Nelson as The Leader, and Shira Haas as Sabra. Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) is directing from a script penned by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier writer Malcolm Spellman & Dalan Musson.

Captain America: Brave New World is set for a May 3rd, 2024 release date.
