Channing Tatum and Henry Cavill discuss their Deadpool & Wolverine cameos

August 6, 2024 by EJ Moreno

If you saw Deadpool and Wolverine with a packed house, you know the appearances of Channing Tatum and Henry Cavill tore the roof off the cinemas. Dare I say these two actors’ cameos in this film could be some of the best superhero cameos of all time?

Let’s dish out what happened for those who missed the film or have been waiting for spoilers to pop up online. Tatum finally got the chance to play Gambit after a decade of wanting the role, while Cavill appeared in a now-iconic scene where Deadpool stumbles on a Wolverine variant.

While Channing Tatum’s Gambit had some time to shine, fans only got a brief tease of what the Cavillerine would be like. That was enough to get fans foaming out of their mouths, and the actor was able to discuss the role in a social media post.

“Wolverine is recovering from his injuries when he crosses paths with the loudmouth, Deadpool. They team up to defeat a common enemy.”

Deadpool & Wolverine is directed by Shawn Levy (Free Guy) and stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman alongside Fox/Marvel veterans Jennifer Garner (Elektra), Stefan Kapacic (Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), Lewis Tan (Shatterstar), Rob Delaney (Peter), Aaron Stanford (Pyro), and Tyler Mane (Sabretooth) with new additions including Matthew Macfadyen (Succession) as Mr. Paradox and Emma Corrin (The Crown) as Cassandra Nova.
