Christopher Nolan’s next film rumoured to be World War II epic about the Dunkirk evacuation

December 27, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Back in September it was revealed that Warner Bros. has set a July 2017 release date for Christopher Nolan’s next film, although as is customary with the filmmaker, plot details were being kept as a closely guarded secret.

Well, if the French newspaper La Voix Du Nord (via The Playlist) is to be believed, we may not have an inkling what Nolan is planning next, with a report suggesting that he’s developing a World War II epic based upon the Dunkirk evacuation, where over 330,000 Allied soldiers were rescued from the beaches of Dunkirk.

Apparently, Nolan and his brother and frequent collaborator Jonathan have been visiting Dunkirk in preparation for the film where they “absorbed the territory, its past and the consequences of the conflict.”
