The odyssey continues for Christopher Nolan as he grows his cast for his adaptation of the Greek epic tragedy The Odyssey with the addition of Jesse Garcia (Murder City) and Will Yun Lee (Altered Carbon).
Told over 2000 years ago by the Greek writer Homer, The Odyssey tells the tale of Odysseus following the Trojan War as he sailed back home to Ithica. Blown across the sea by the anger of the Gods, Odysseus spent a decade trying to get back home while encountering many characters from Greek mythology, most famously the witch Circe and the cyclops Polyphemus.
The Odyssey will feature a huge ensemble of actors, many of whom have worked with Nolan previously. The new cast members join the previously announced Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, Hamish Patel, Bill Irwin and Samantha Morton.
Christopher Nolan’s next film, The Odyssey, is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new Imax film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.
