October 10, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games have today announced that they will be releasing Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles on PC and consoles on 23rd January 2025.  This remastering of the 2000 fast-paced classic will be celebrating the title’s 25th anniversary with modern controls, new characters, different game modes and more.  Watch the new announcement trailer below….

Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles takes players into fast-paced lightsaber battles where they will be able to play as Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon, Adi Gallia and Qui-Gon Jinn and take on legions of droids, assassins and other foes.  Fight through many of the iconic locations from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace such as Theed Palace.

As well as the above mentioned characters, there are also 13 new playable characters that can be unlocked after the first playthrough, these include the Rifle Droid, a Tusken Raider, Ishi Tib and Weequay.  Not only that, all the original secret characters from the original game, including Darth Maul, Captain Panaka and Queen Amidala will all be unlocked from the start.

STAR WARS Episode I: Jedi Power Battles will feature:

  • Side-scrolling arcade action as fan-favourite characters from the film.
  • All the original secret characters and levels will be unlocked from the start, and there’s more new characters to unlock after the first playthrough.
  • Battle side by side with a friend in two-player couch co-op for the whole game and bonus mini-games.
  • A huge selection of features, including the choice of using either classic or modern controls, changing lightsabre colours, entering cheat codes and more.

STAR WARS Episode I: Jedi Power Battles will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on 23rd January 2025, and is available to pre-order now.
