Comic Book Review – Uncle Scrooge #13

April 10, 2016 by Andrew Newton

Andrew Newton reviews Uncle Scrooge #13…

“Scrooge’s Last Adventure: Part 1 of 4!” When Glomgold, Rockerduck, Magica and the Beagle Boys team up to beat Scrooge, what happens after they win? Then William Van Horn teams Scrooge and Uncle Rumpus in “Nothing Like It!”

‘Scrooge’s Last Adventure’  is an epic four part story starting this issue that sees Scrooge McDuck facing the possibility of becoming the poorest man in Duckberg when Glomgold, Rockerduck, Magica and the Beagle Boys gang up against him.  If all four of Scrooge’s most dangerous enemies team up together can they steal his fortune and his power?

‘Scrooge’s Last Adventure’ first appeared in Italy’s Topolino and was written by Francesco Artibani who has created a very exciting storyline.  Being an adult, albeit one going through his second childhood, I found this storyline quite an enjoyable one and I’m looking forward to the next few parts.

The second story in this issue is titled ‘Nothing Like It’ first published in Norway’s Donald Duck and Co #18 in 2009.  It’s a nice little story written and drawn by William Van Horn which sees Scrooge McDuck wake up to find he isn’t the richest person in town.  Is it a dream or has Scrooge’s worst nightmare come true?

Both stories are nicely written and drawn and the first story really draws you in and makes you hope that their plans aren’t successful.  I look forward to issue #14.

Rating: 8.5/10
