Dario Argento’s new giallo Dark Glasses sets October release on Shudder

August 10, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

Legendary filmmaker Dario Argento returned this year for his first feature since 2012’s Dracula 3D with Dark Glasses, a giallo starring Ilenia Pastorelli as a woman who sets out to put an end to a sadistic serial killer’s reign of terror after a botched attack that leaves her without her sight.

Dark Glasses premiered at the Berlin Film Festival back in February, and now horror streaming service Shudder has announced that it will be releasing the film on its platform this October; check out the original Italian theatrical poster and teaser trailer below…

Rome. An eclipse blocks out the sun, blackening the skies on a hot summer day – harbinger of the darkness that will envelop Diana when a serial killer chooses her as prey. Fleeing her predator, the young escort crashes her car and loses her sight. She emerges from the initial shock determined to fight for her life, but she is no longer alone. Defending her and acting as her eyes is a little boy, Chin, who survived the car accident. But the killer won’t give up his victim. Who will be saved?

Dark Glasses stars Ilenia Pastorelli, Andrea Zhang, Asia Argento, Maria Rosaria Russo, Guglielmo Favilla, Paola Sambo, Andrea Gherpelli, Tiffany Zhou, Gennaro Iaccarino, Gianluca Gugliarelli, Gladys Robles, Cristiano Simone Iannone, Mario Scerbo, and Ivan Alovisio.
