Dave Bautista may play the villain’s henchman in Bond 24

October 13, 2014 by Thomas Roach

A few weeks ago it was revealed that casting for Bond 24 was underway, with the producers looking to return to the roots of the Bond franchise by hiring an actor to play the role of a “physically imposing henchman”. According to Latino Review, wrestler and actor Dave Bautista, best known for his role as Drax in this year’s Guardians of the Galaxy has landed the role.

Here’s the casting description for the henchman role…

We are looking to follow in the tradition of JAWS and ODDJOB in finding an iconic baddy.

“Hinx (Male, 30 – 45)”

“Ideally over 6? 2?. Hinx is the main henchman/assassin. We are looking for an imposing extremely physically fit actor. He has several fights with Bond and will have to have stunt training. He has to drive. We are looking for someone very unusual, possibly from a sports background.”

“Height: 180cm – 195cm”

This casting news still needs to be confirmed but with the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, Dave Bautista is hot property and he certainly matches the description that the producers put out.

Will Dave Bautista make a good henchman? Let us know…

Bond 24 opens on October 23rd 2015 in the UK and November 6th 2015 in the States. Sam Mendes returns to direct while Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear all reprise their roles from Skyfall and Lea Seydoux (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) has reportedly joined the cast.
