Dave Bautista, Sarah Connor and the T-800 are coming to Gears 5

September 6, 2019 by Gary Collinson

For the past few years, Dave Bautista has been lobbying hard for a role in a live-action Gears of War movie, and while he’s yet to fulfil that wish he now has the second best thing, as he has revealed that his wrestling persona Batista is coming to the video game Gears 5 as a playable character.

Bautista made the announcement on Twitter, with the playable character set to be available to all Gears 5 players from September 15th following WWE’s Clash of Champions event.

It’s about damn time. Play as me in #Gears5 starting Sept 15 after @WWE Clash of Champions. @XBox @GearsofWar #DreamChaser pic.twitter.com/bCU4ZIjdw1

Along with the announcement, the official Xbox channel also unveiled a first-look gameplay trailer featuring Batista, as well as fellow unlockable characters Sarah Connor and the T-800 from Terminator: Dark Fate (for those who’ve pre-ordered any version of the game) and Emile and Kat from Halo: Reach (available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers and those who pre-ordered the Gears 5 Ultimate Edition).

Gears 5 is out now on Xbox One and PC.
