Dave Bautista set to voice villain role in Aang: The Last Airbender

April 13, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Dave Bautista and Eric Nam are now set to topline the upcoming animated feature film Aang: The Last Airbender.

The news was announced during the Paramount presentation at CinemaCon, which instantly became a hit with longtime fans of the franchise. Bautista will voice a villain character, while Nam will voice the character of protagonist Aang. The rest of the voice cast for this film includes Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, and Roman Zaragoza.

Lauren Montgomery (Avatar: The Last Airbender) directs the project alongside William Mata. Original series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko will executive produce alongside Eric Coleman.

The original animated Avatar series ran from 2005 to 2008 on Nickelodeon. The shows follow the adventures of the mystical Avatar, a person who can master all four elements of nature: air, water, earth, and fire. The original series starred Avatar Aang, who must learn to master the elements to defeat the evil Fire Nation with his friends Katara, Sokka, and Toph.

A follow-up series, The Legend of Korra, ran from 2012 to 2014, while Netflix released a live-action version earlier this year, which was a rousing success for the streamer.

Stay tuned for any additional information concerning Aang: The Last Airbender.
